| Well, just watched the first two episodes of this. It's pretty great so far. I think it would be better without the softcore porn shots they get on the chicks.
Anyone else watch this? And sort of a part two: I've heard nothing but good things about Deathnote. Would anyone here recommend it?

| I just watched the first six episodes last night.
While it does have it's share of anime cliches and unnecessary panty and boob shots and wiggling overall they don't go out of their way to oversexualize the characters with huge racks and whatnot. The story isn't exactly innovative in and of itself but the writing tends to be rather well done, particularly the translation into English. The voice actors are mostly people I've never even heard of and yet they do such a good job. When they are distressed they really sound distressed and they know how to be quiet rather than you thinking "Aren't they supposed to be quiet here?" every time they speak. I definitely like the voices and some of them are actually very unusual for something you'd hear in an anime as usually they'd sound like smartasses at all times or be the cutesy-wootsy with sugar on top. These voices are actually pretty well varied, it does a good job I think. That's mostly the main characters. The side characters are good enough but some of them can be rather bland.
They do a good job at tension when there's times they have to try to get out of a mob since they can't always fight their way out (Which they do even though they are only highschool students who you wouldn't normally think would be able to survive a zombie apocalypse by themselves lol)
There are a few minor inconsistencies such as the main character riding a motorcycle for the very first time in his life and not even tipping it over and he even does a perfect wheelie. lol
Overall I'd say it's a great anime with a few cliches thrown in that only bog it down a tiny bit.

| I've also gotta say something about the soundtrack. It's really well done and they use it at just the right times. It's amazing. | |

| I might check out the series one day as well. There are so many shows I want to watch with so little time on my hands. We should make a list of must-see series. I'm willing to check out HSotD. | |

| Definitely should make a sticky topic of must see series for shows, movies and anime.
You'll be happy to know HSotD is only 12 episodes long so it's not exactly time consuming. It took me and my brother two nights (About three or four hours each night) to watch it and that was with messing with players because I was watching it online.
And if I may suggest: Watch it in English. I know most people who watch anime prefer to watch it in sub but even though I haven't seen the sub (And generally don't really watch subs anyway) I can tell you the English Dub is absolutely amazing. I've watched many dubs and among them HSotD has one of the best.

| I'll keep that in mind. I'm probably going to watch it with my gf. She likes anime too. I don't know when since I'm so busy nowadays. | |

| Personally I couldn't imagine you could be so busy you couldn't squeeze in 24 minutes a night to watch at least one episode but then again I don't know what your home life is like so I can't say much. | |

| HOTD is a great anime, I really wish they would announce a second season though. Unfortunetly due to the lack of material from the manga that's not possible yet :/ As for the walking dead you should definitely check it out, just make sure to give it 2 episodes at least. In my opinion it started kind of slow.
Moving on to Death Note, if you like thrillers you'll enjoy it. It's a good series and definitely worth a watch. This one you'll probably get hooked on. ( I know I did !)
