| Obviously it looks impressive. Sony has had a bad run of new products having very ho hum or bad reactions - PSPGo, MOVE, PSP1 fell off the table....
I think the good is they are switching to carts - its great it is not DD only, and it is great it does not have an optical media again.
I wonder at how much original, ambitious support it will get. I know the reveal was not confirmed titles, but we are looking at PS3 port city. It is very hard to believe major 3rd parties will support this very hard, with new IP's. Just as it is hard to believe 3DS will get much other than ports from MOST 3rd parties, when it comes to big name games.
Design wise, it is not clams shell, I guess that is good and bad. The analog sticks stick out quite a ways, I am not sure if they can be retracted. It has a very 'naked' look, but it looks all right. Still, not something you just casually hand a to kid. Still, at $250, hard to hand kids 3DS either....! (as a durability indicator)
Need more info on the possibility of wifi vs 3G models - be interesting to see online pricing and or subscriptions. Be interesting to see the pricing of the system and the games as well, of course.
Overall, I think Sony has made something a fair amount of people will want, if the software comes in. In a nut shell, it really does look like DS vs PSP again, though their are numerous changes and unkowns with both new hand helds.
What say you?

| Oh I forgot to mention I think it is kind of odd Sony is supporting a mobile platform, even if it is not necessarily their 'a' grade stuff. Seems dumb to split their user base and fracture it more. It is an indicator PSP2 will be expensive, and that they have little faith in their share of the hand held market anyway.
I am sure they will have a lot of control over the 'Suite', or whatever, but it is essentially 3rd party support for platforms with names other than Nintendo or Apple. It could devalue them, to an extent.

| I want one, but I think their claim that it's as powerful as the PS3 is a total riot. Maybe in terms of processing power, sure (which will absolutely destroy the battery life), but it can't even do 720p.
Still, I want one (especially if they start bringing PS2 games to the PSN).
